The Meaning Behind the Name
Hancha Tea, a division of TeaClassics, is America's source for teas and tisanes from Korea. With the deeply infused wealth of tea knowledge and authentic country of origin expertise, Hancha Tea embodies the best of East-West sensibilities.Our premium teas and tisanes are available as loose leaf in artfully designed canisters and pouches as well as in bulk. Much of the same loose leaf teas are offered as individually packaged On-the-Go Tea Sachets. Also available are limited quantities of single estate reserve teas and our own custom, specialty blends, utilizing pure teas and tisanes.

HANCHA TEA represents Korean tea made right with a full, rich heart... An American company, based in Southern California, we chose a brand name for our line of teas and tisanes from Korea which would best exemplify our desire to highlight the beauty of Korea's teas with both authenticity and meaningful depth. The character, Han in Hancha Tea, first means the country and people of Land of Morning Calm, otherwise known as Korea., thus the direct connection to teas that are grown and harvested in Korean soil by master growers steeped with traditional agricultural know-how. The character, Han, also has several additional meanings, including the word one as in the one thing, the one source. It further represents centered with balance, great as in great path, full as in a full bowl and same as in one mind. The individual meanings of the character Han also represent the heart and spirit of Hancha Tea. With passion and mindful heart, we endeavor to be your right choice, the One-Source for all things Korean teas and tisanes. There is an old Korean proverb that states, "Not more, not less, just Han ga wui." The philosophy behind this proverb is that it is just right the way it is, with no need to add or take anything away from it. One of the most important Korean holidays is Thanksgiving Day that celebrates the year's harvest. Called Chusok, it is also known as HanGaWui because it occurs on a beautiful Fall day, when it is neither too hot nor too cold, but just right with great balance.Our specialty teas and tisanes we bring to you from Korea come with rich philosophy and traditions, deeply steeped in over 2,000 years of Korean tea history and culture as well as pure tea that is just right for your enjoyment.
